A Prospect Of Ely

This was the first of the miniature ‘concertina’ books from the press; it was published in 2009. It was printed from three engraved woodblocks – two with text and a long central one showing a view of Ely from our village. It is bound between two boards which are covered in various marbled and paste papers, mostly made by Jenny Hall of Norwich. The boards are joined by two pairs of ribbons to form the book, but these can be untied so that the engraved panorama can be viewed. A wood engraved label is pasted on the front.

The book measures 75 x 60mm and has been published in an edition of 100 copies – some are still available from my ETSY store.
