Avebury

“Avebury” was the second and smallest of the ‘concertina’ books published at the Isle Handpress, measuring just 60x42mm. It has a title page and colophon enclosing a view of the stone circle of Avebury in Wiltshire, the whole thing being engraved on two woodblocks.

The book is bound with marbled paper covered boards and ribbons, which can be unfastened to show the view. The marbled paper was made by Payhembury papers. A wood engraved label is pasted on the front. The edition is of 100 copies, some of which are still available from my ETSY store.
