“Feed the Bees” (2018) is the third of the miniature ‘concertina’ books published by the press. It contains four seasonal groups of plants which attract bees to the garden. It was printed from four engraved woodblocks – two with text and two each having two images.
Like my previous ‘concertina’ books, it was bound with marbled paper covered card and ribbon, with a wood engraved label pasted on the front. The book measures 82 x 50mm. The cover paper was made by Payhembury Papers.
The book was made in an edition of 120 copies. Numbers 1 – 20 were hand coloured ‘specials’ which have sold out. Regular copies are still available from my ETSY store.
Since I created this book, I have become aware that it is slightly taller then 3″, which is the maximum size of a miniature book in the US. I have easily been able to trim both boards and interior so that they fit the definition.
