I decided that numbers 1 – 20 of “Feed The Bees” would be hand coloured in watercolour and so be the ‘specials’ of this edition. I have always preferred to colour by hand, rather than use multiple blocks of different colours. I like that each copy will be slightly different and used this method for the “Honeybee” mini-sheet of stamps I designed for Royal Mail. William Blake was an early influence here. I love how each copy of his illuminated books is different – sometimes greatly so.
