“Nocturnal” is a small book of wood engravings of creatures that are active at night. It measures 10x14cm and contains eight wood engravings of creatures lit by moonlight., together with title page and colophon which are also printed from wood engraved blocks. The book is sewn into card covers with a wraparound of paper marbled by Payhembury Papers and a wood engraved label.
There are 75 copies in the regular edition and a separate edition of 26 lettered ‘special’ hardback copies printed on larger paper with a folder of four signed proofs at the back of the book.
